疑问词是疑问代词“who, whom, what, which, whose”和疑问副词“when, where, how, why ”。此外,连接词“whether”也适用。
“疑问词+不定式动词”结构有何功用呢?其主要功用有下列五种:
⑴当主语,如:
When to hold the meeting has not yet been decided.
Where to live is a problem.
How to cope with the rising cost of living becomes a daily discussion topic.
⑵当宾语,如:
We must know what to say at a meeting.
He could not tell whom to trust.
Do you know how to play bridge?
⑶当补足语,如:
The problem is where to find the financial aid.
The question is who to elect.
⑷当名词同位语,如:
Tom had no idea which book to read first.

⑸当宾语补足语,如:
Jim is not sure whose to choose.

适用于“疑问词+不定式动词”的动词包括:“know, see, decide, tell, ask, consider, discover, explain, forget, guess, hear, imagine, inquire, learn, remember, think, wonder, understand”等。
有点值得特别注意的是:当这结构当宾语时,它的作用等于名词分句,例如:
I could not decide which dictonary to buy. / I could not decide which dictionary I should buy.
Jack did not know where to find such a good teacher./ Jack did not know where he could find such a good teacher.
有些动词,如“ask, show, tell, advise, inform, teach”等,可以先有个宾语,然后才接着加上适当的“疑问词+不定式动词” 结构。例如:
The chief technician showed the apprentice how to repair the machine.
Have you told him where to get the application form?

6.aloud ,loud, loudly的区别
(1) aloud只能做副词,强调“出声”。作“出声地”解释时,主要与read, think等连用;作“大声地”解释时,主要与call, shout, cry等连用。
(2) loud既可作形容词,意为“大声的;响亮的”;也可作副词,主要指说话声和笑声等,强调发出的声音强度大、传得远,多用来修饰speak, talk, laugh等动词。如:
(3) loudly是副词,意为“高声地;大声地”,指人声、敲门声或其他各种声音,有“喧闹、嘈杂”之意,与loud用法一样,但使用范围更广,常与ring, knock等动词连用。

2、可数名词单数变复数类
1.规则变化:
(1)一般情况加-s,如:girls,books,pens,bags,boys,days等。
(2)以s,x,ch,sh结尾加-es,如:buses,boxes,watches,brushes等
(3)以o结尾的名词,无生命的名词多加-s,有生命的名词多加-es。如photos,zoos,potatoes,tomatoes等
(4)以辅音字母加y结尾的名词,变y为i加-es,如:cities,stories
(5)以f或fe结尾的名词变f或fe为v加-es。如:leaves,knives,shelves,wives等。
2.不规则变化的名词要熟记:

4、引导词
1.从句为陈述句,常选择引导词that,that引导宾语从句无意义,不充当句子成分常省略。例句:He told us(that)they would help us through the whole work.
2.从句为一般疑问句,常选择引导词if或whether,表示“是否”。在whether…or not结构中不能用if替换。例句:I don't know if there will be a bus any more.
3. 从句为特殊疑问句,常选择what,when,where,which,who,how等的疑问代词、副词作引导词。例句:He didn't tell me when we should meet again.
